Greggs opened its new larger shop on Chiswick High Road this Saturday (31 August).

It has relocated from 364 Chiswick High Road to a larger unit at 366/368 Chiswick High Road which used to house the Halifax.

This means it can offer sit down dining and is open from 6am to 8pm daily. The shop will stock freshly prepared Greggs favourites, such as the popular Sausage Roll, Steak Bake and vegan alternatives.

Customers can also take advantage of Greggs’ deals throughout the day, including breakfast combinations, offering a breakfast roll or baguette alongside a Fairtrade orange juice or hot drink - served until 11am every day.

Those looking for a bite to eat in the evening can purchase hot food such as Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, Potato Wedges and a variety of pizza slices including Margherita Pepperoni, Spicy Mexican Chicken, Spicy Veg and Pepperoni Hot Shot. After 4pm, customers can pick up any pizza slice with any drink from just £2.85 instead of the usual £3.50 .

There is also a Click + Collect service via the Greggs App which is free to download and gives access to a variety of rewards. For every 9 purchases in different categories – from hot drinks, to sandwiches, to bakes to sweet treats – app users can get one completely free. New users of the Greggs App also receive a free hot drink of their choice upon registration, as well as a free sweet treat to celebrate their birthday each year.

Shop Manager Teresa Vitella said, “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of iconic savouries, Fairtrade hot drinks, hot food and healthier choices available for takeaway, sit-in or Click + Collect.”

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said: “We’re excited to be welcoming customers to our new and improved shop in Chiswick, with 4 new members joining the existing team. We look forward to providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”

Any further jobs created at the Chiswick shop will be posted on the Gregg’s company web site.

Greggs is understood to have taken a ten year lease on its new home and the unit it is leaving is being offered for rent.

The company has seen significant growth over the last few years and now has over 2,300 branches in the UK including those in airports and railway station. It has diversified its product range to introduce plant-based and healthier food options including the vegetarian sausage roll in 2019 which, despite initial controversy, has proven to be a popular product. It is also seeing a growing proportion of sales from online delivery apps.

The company’s revenues reached over £1.5 billion in 2022 driven by both the expansion of store numbers and increased same-store sales.
