Chiswick Flower Market Goes Vegan as it Celebrates Pride |

Super Sunday sees a new range of stalls and LGBTQ+ events
The Chiswick Flower Market in July is being dubbed 'Super Sunday ' by the organisers with two new attractions for visitors. The market on Sunday 3 July takes place the day after the London Pride parade and the celebrations are set to continue through the weekend. West London Queer Project (WLQP) and Chiswick Flower Market have joined forces so that Chiswick can celebrate the culmination of Pride Month. Rainbow flags will be flying in Old Market Place and outside the George IV from 9am and wide programme of events is taking place organised by the WLQP which was founded by Chiswick resident Aubrey Crawley including picnics, walks, an art exhibition, bingo nights, social events and drag shows. Thanks to the George IV pub, a special event for LGBTQ+ parents and their children will open at 10am - with networking and children’s entertainment laid on. The adults will be given the opportunity to meet and mingle with other families while their children will be entertained with games and crafts by ‘The Kids Dominic Hughes, from Pot Pourri Flowers, will be returning to Chiswick to run a flower arranging workshop from 1.30pm. There will be a Pride Party in the George IV from 3pm with a BBQ in the garden with a performance from the “riotously funny” Crayola the Queen at 8pm. Chiswick School Choir and Steel Band will be back at the market , along with Jasmine Earl and her Disney songs, Kenta with his Japanese music, and Alistair Pope with his guitar music. Aubrey Crawley said of West London Queer Project said “Pride month is a time to reflect on how far the LGBTQ+ community has come but to also acknowledge the Ollie Saunders of Chiswick Flower Market said “Nearly 10,000 people came to Chiswick High Road to celebrate Jubilee Sunday in what we hope was a memorable day for the community. We are delighted that Chiswick will be celebrating Pride and that we are part of the fun - I am expecting the vibe to be a fun and celebratory one, accessible to all, with plenty for everyone to see and do!” Chiswick will also be welcoming Vegan Markets to Chiswick for the first time as a separate new trial market. The event will run alongside the Flower Market featuring vegan street food, artisan bakes, craft cheeses, handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing & jewellery, arts & crafts Lewis Beresford, Vegan Market’s Founder says; “We are so excited to be in Chiswick for the first time. We work hard to find the country’s leading vegan producers, from street food vendors and bakers to ethical clothing and cosmetic producers. We also work with many local businesses and can’t wait to give all of these fantastic producers the platform they deserve and introduce them to the wonderful people of Chiswick!” Ollie Saunders says, “Vegan Markets will be coming to Chiswick for the first time and will run their market next to ours - bringing something new and interesting to the High Road. It will certainly be a ‘Super Sunday'." The George IV will be doing a street BBQ and the street area will be laid out with outdoor tables and chairs, decorated with flowers, for you to bring your own food and drink.
