The former premises of Turnham Green Chinese looks set to become an 'artisan' pizza outlet.

An application has been submitted to Hounslow Council's licensing department for late opening at 63 Turnham Green Terrace for late opening, to sell alcohol for consumption both on and off the premises and to show films.

In the application it is stated that they will be offering artisan pizza or very large pizzas along with bottled craft beers and thick American style milkshakes in a 'trendy setting'.

The plans show that the interior of the restaurant will include booths and that permission has also been requested for a canopy with outside tables. An associated company of the applicant is called Pizza Street although it is not known if this will be the name of the new business at this location.

The owners of Turnham Green Chinese, the former occupant of the site, claimed that rising rents and business rates made it impossible to continue. The takeaway restaurant came to national attention when the sign outside the restaurant was altered to say 'Turn Green Chinese' which its loyal patrons insisted was not a reference to food hygiene issues.

The new owners have set up a web site asking people to guess what kind of business they are. Anyone who gives the correct answer has the chance to win a free lunch or the chance to attend their soft opening which will take place in January 2016.
