To mark Civic Day on June 25th the Bedford Park Society is launching the "Best Front Garden Award". The award will be judged by TV presenter and gardening correspondent Gay Search.

Gay will be looking at the best examples of Bedford Park gardens over the next couple of weeks and will assess them on their planting, maintenance, hard landscaping, permeability and the appropriateness of gates, walls and fences. The winner will receive a certificate.

Civic Day is a national event organised by Civic Voice, of which the Bedford Park Society is a member. Civic Day is a national celebration of what makes the place where we live attractive, enjoyable and distinctive. Civic societies across England will invite people to celebrate their area and discover more about where they live. A diverse programme of events and activities is being planned, focused on Saturday June 25th 2011 as the first Civic Day.
