New CPZ for the Acton Green area to be in place this Summer
Designated
by the Ealing Council as the South Acton CPZ the scheme is designed
to control overspill parking from Chiswick Business Park
A new controlled parking zone (CPZ) will be introduced in the Chiswick
Park and Acton Green areas this summer. This follows a consultation
by the council with residents and businesses in the area last autumn.
It was felt that this area would benefit from a CPZ because of the
extended Bedford Park Zone (B) and their proximity to Chiswick Business
Park.
Around
the same time a scheme for the West
Chiswick area will also be introduced.
Cllr
Stephen Sears, cabinet member for transport and sustainable development,
said: "This is designed to tackle the parking problems in Chiswick
Park and Acton Green head-on. We will be keeping a close eye on
the new controls to see if there are any knock-on effects in neighbouring
streets. We will not introduce parking controls if it is clear that
residents and businesses do not want them."
The
controlled parking zone will operate from Monday to Friday, between
9.30am-5.30pm.
