West Chiswick parking zone given go-ahead
Scheme
expected to be in place by this Summer
More than 1500 residents in Chiswick will benefit from improved
parking in West Chiswick after councillors approved a controlled
parking zone. The decision, by the Chiswick Area Planning Committee,
will bring relief to many residents in the area who currently suffer
from serious problems of commuter parking.
The
local committee was required to make a decision on the proposed
zone after eleven objections were submitted in response to the Statutory
Traffic Order in December. The objections needed to be overcome
or addressed before the zone could be given the go-ahead.
The
scheme has been paid for by funds from the fund set up to make transport
improvements in the area following the development of Chiswick Business
Park.
The
implementation of the new zone is expected to take place during
Summer 2003.
