An abandoned car, which had been parked in a bus stop in Burlington Lane, was finally removed this Thursday (30 May) after being there for over a week.

The red Mercedes Estate was reported to the police and Transport for London multiple times by both local residents and bus staff but nothing was done.

Some residents pointed out that illegally parked cars elsewhere can get towed in a matter of hours but, even though this vehicle was on a Red Route, there was no urgency in getting it moved.

The position of the car at the bus stop on the northbound carriageway approaching Hogarth Roundabout made it more difficult for the 190 and 533 buses to rejoin traffic, contributing to tailbacks on the A316.

It is not known which agency arranged for the removal of the car.

We approached TfL for comment but have not received a response.
