No enforcement on Staveley Road or Hartington Road until early next year
December 21, 2022 Hounslow Council is suspending the access restrictions on two roads in the Grove Park area. From Christmas Eve until New Year’s Day there will be no enforcement on Staveley Road and Hartington Road. Council leader Shantanu Rajawat has written to councillors to confirm the decision. Enforcement will resume on 2 January 2023 but then will be suspended again on the next two Saturdays (7 &14) due to the closure of the eastbound M4 from Junction 2 to the Hogarth Roundabout on the A4. The move was welcomed by the One Chiswick group which says it wrote to Cllr Rajawat suggesting a suspension during the Christmas and New Year period. A spokesperson said, “We are grateful to the Council Leader who has listened to the Chiswick Residents at this time of year when times are very tough. Many family and friends from outside the area will be visiting Chiswick over the festive period and with so many activations and suspensions over the past few months, it will reduce the stress of travelling in what is a very difficult cost of living crisis.” Some disappointment was expressed that the suspension was not continue until the 2 January as it is a Bank Holiday. TfL has suspended the Congestion Charge in London through to 3 January. There is no indication that other enforcement measures in the borough, such as the one on Devonshire Road, will be suspended.
