Cycleway 9 Work By Kew Bridge To Resume |
|
Road closures likely to lead to disruption over next four months
Work on the project to build Cycleway 9 near the junction by Kew Bridge is set to resume on 5 December with extra traffic disruption likely. Approaches to the junction will be operating with some lane closures throughout these works. Transport for London (TfL) is warning that you should expect delays on the A406 Gunnersbury Avenue (onto Chiswick High Road), the A205 Chiswick High Road, eastbound on the A315 Kew Bridge Road and on Kew Bridge. It says it will be doing all it can to keep traffic moving by proactively managing traffic signal timings in the area. The work was commenced in December of last year but had to be paused due to the pandemic. The closure of Kew Bridge on the night of 10 December from 8pm to 5am will be required. From 5 to 16 December work will be taking place on Chiswick High Road in the vicinity of Wellesley Road and Capital Interchange Way requiring the closure of one lane each way. From the 4 to 28 January one of the northbound lanes on Kew Bridge will be closed to enable utility works by BT. From 5 to 18 February one eastbound lane (heading in the direction of Chiswick Roundabout) will be closed on Chiswick High Road in the vicinity of Capital Interchange Way. There will be no exit from Capital Interchange Way. From 1 to 16 March work in the vicinity of Stile Hall Gardens / Aitman Drive will require one westbound lane on Chiswick High Road to be closed and there will be no access from Stile Hall Gardens. Bus routes in the area will run as normal but may experience delays due to lane reductions. From 4 January to 5 March 2021 bus stop ‘Kew Bridge’ (Stop Z) will be closed. A temporary stop will be placed in the vicinity. TfL says it will work on weekdays between 8am and 5pm other than the night of the bridge closure. These working hours have been agreed with Hounslow Council. Poor weather conditions may lead to a rescheduling at short notice.
