20 Metre Mast Planned Next To Chiswick Old Cemetery |

Structure would be situated on Corney Road
An application has been made to erect a 20 metre high telecommunications mast next to Chiswick Old Cemetery. The structure along with three cabinets would be opposite 58 Corney Road. The 5G mast would be situated on the pavement near the junction with Edensor Road and would be more than twice the height of a nearby tree. The application has been made by CK Hutchison Networks (UK) Ltd which operates the Three network. In its application the company says, “It is our opinion that the proposed design presents a better ‘fit’ within the local community and immediate street scape, offering a reduced visual impact upon an area of adopted highway identified, as situated out with a conservation area or other such restrictive designation.” In a statement submitted with the application the company states that there is an ‘acute need’ for a new base station to provide effective service coverage and the height of the proposed street pole is the minimum required to bring the benefits of 5G to this area. If approval is given work is expected to start in March of next year with competition by April. The mast would be 270m from Cavendish Primary School and 330m from the Dukes Meadow Community Centre. The planning reference for the application on Hounslow Council’s planning portal is PA/2021/4816.
