Fatality at Turnham Green station
British Transport Police are appealing
for information after man hit by Piccadilly line train
A man was killed by a train at Turnham Green Station last week
after a witness saw him climb down onto the line just before a Piccadilly
line train passed through the station.
47
year old Iqbal Malik was a broadcast engineer from Heston. His family
dispute the police's belief that he committed suicide. A woman was
killed at the same station in December 2001 attempting to retrieve
a mobile phone that she had dropped on the tracks. Concerns have
been expressed in the past about the combination of narrow platforms
in the station and the fast pace at which non-stopping Piccadilly
line trains pass through.
The
incident occured on Friday 27th June at 1.50pm. If
you have any information regarding this incident could you please
contact the British Transport Police on 020 7391 5275 (24hrs).
