CHISWICK PARK WINS NATIONAL DESIGN AWARD
Chiswick
Park, the modern office complex
just off Chiswick High Road
has won one of the UK’s most
prestigious awards schemes for
architectural and environmental
design.
The
1.5 million square foot office
complex, designed by Richard
Rogers, has been given the award
by the Civic Trust, a registered
charity. A total of seven Special
Awards, 50 Awards, 79 Commendations
and 49 Mentions were awarded
to outstanding examples of urban
design, with projects ranging
from new buildings and restorations,
to landscape schemes and a light
railway system.

The
Civic Trust Awards have been established for
42 years, and are given to outstanding examples
of architecture, restorations, town planning,
landscapes and public art. The Civic Trust
Awards scheme is unique in that its judges
not only look for design excellence, but also
awards projects that benefit local communities
and environment.
There
were 50 such awards given this year with 22
in the Greater London area.
The
Civic Trust organises its awards with help
from local authorities around the UK.
