Bus Route 391 Bids Farewell This Weekend

Buses on route 391 will make their final journey this Saturday (12 December) as the service is due to be scrapped by Transport for London.
It is to be replace by route 110 which will provide additional links to Twickenham Stadium, Whitton and Hounslow from Hammersmith, Kew and Richmond.
The new route will provide the same frequency of service as route 391 through Chiswick between Richmond and Hammersmith but with earlier and later buses in both directions on all days of the week.
Route 110 will operate between Hounslow Bus Station and Hammersmith and no longer run between Whitton, Hospital Bridge Road and West Middlesex Hospital. It will instead operate via Whitton High Street, Chertsey Road and St Margaret’s Road to Richmond Town Centre. It will then go to Hammersmith via Chiswick taking over the existing 391 route.
Monday to Friday the 110 will run every 15 minutes during the AM peak, midday and PM peak periods. and every 20 minutes in the evening.
The Saturday service will be every 15 minutes during the day, and every 20 minutes in the evening.
Sundays will see buses running every 30 minutes in the early morning and then every 20 minutes for the rest of the day.
The change is part of a broader reorganisation of bus routes in south west and west London. TFL consulted back in 2018 on proposals to reallocate bus resources to where they said additional capacity was needed in Richmond, Twickenham and Whitton. However negative responses to the consultation and the closure of Hammersmith Bridge made it necessary for them to make amendments.
The original plan would have reduced the number of buses serving West Middlesex Hospital. Campaigners in the area say that pressure they exerted has resulted in substantial improvements over the original plans.
The proposals triggered protests from Isleworth residents and an online campaign and street petition was led by Councillor Salman Shaheen. Originally it was intended to scrap the 110 service but after feedback from residents it was decided to re-route the service and extend the existing H22 bus from Twickenham to serve West Middlesex Hospital via the Ivybridge Estate.
The frequency of service on route H37 which runs from Hounslow to Richmond via Isleworth is to be reduced.
