Trip of a lifetime for Will to Win kids Local children to be ambassadors for British tennis in Dubai
Chiswick based tennis organisation, Will to Win, will be taking a group of junior players to Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the WTA Dubai Duty Free Tennis Tournament next month. The children will act as ball kids and also take part in a tennis match and camp. The event is part of a long-term exchange programme, with the Will to Win visitors staying with host families and the Dubai ball kids invited to London in the summer, to take part in Will to Win tennis camps. Will to Win founder Steve Riley is working closely with CF Tennis, a tennis organisation in Dubai . Steve Riley worked in Dubai in the 1980s at the Sheraton Hotel and told chiswickw4.com “Since winning the Dubai Open in 1987 the event really has become Open and the tennis scene in Dubai dramatically moved forward to keep pace with the rest of the city. I am proud to have worked there and am looking forward to returning and giving the visiting kids a chance to see top tennis, and the different cultures and lifestyles in Dubai, in this educational character building experience. We also want players in Dubai to feel welcome to visit any of our centres in London, and hope that some of the ball kids will take part in our summer camp programme.” Clark Francis of CF tennis said “The experience of being a ball kid at such an event is one you will remember all your life, it will broaden your knowledge, give confidence and be a great educational experience, we are delighted to be able to give the Will to Win kids this opportunity and we hope some of our kids will benefit from the exchange by visiting London in the summer”
