The 2005 tennis season closed with Chiswick based Will to Win gaining a 14-10 victory away to Civil Service which secured promotion to Division 3 of the Middlesex league, the club’s highest ever position.
The success this year has been due to the fantastic team spirit of the small squad of players. Special praise is due to Nick and Thorfinn Armstrong, Conrad Germain, Paul Vinnell, Jags Matharoo, Marcus Barclay, Dave Webley and team captain Phill Tait.
The same core of players started out in 1999 in Division 8 of the Middlesex league and to reach Division 3 in six years has been a great achievement.
