Flautist Ruth Harrison and pianist Kumi Matsuo are to perform music by Mendelssohn, Schulhoff, Mozart and Casella as part of a series of concerts featuring young musicians at St Nicholas Church.

It takes place on Sunday 15 May at 3pm and money raised will go towards funding the restoration of the stonework on Chiswick's oldest building.

Originally from Bristol, Ruth Harrison enjoys a varied portfolio of solo, chamber and orchestral performances. Currently on the Artist Diploma course at the Royal College of Music, she has previously graduated with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Undergraduate and the RCM’s Masters programme. Her solo highlights have included performing Henri Dutilleux’s Sonatine for BBC Radio 3 at Milton Court, giving recitals at St George’s Brandon Hill, Drapers Hall and appearing with the Blaze Ensemble as soloist in Mozart’s second Flute Concerto.

Kumi Matsuo is a versatile solo pianist, chamber musician and accompanist. She has won numerous competitions including First Prize in the 6th Isidor Bajic Memorial Piano Competition in Serbia and First Prize in the 5th Louisiana International Piano Competition, USA. She is now on the staff at RCM, working as Duo Coach to the String Faculty, as well as accompanying other ensembles.

The Friends of St Nicholas Church expressed gratitude to Charlotte Fraser for additional sponsorship for the musicians for this concert.

Concert tickets can be purchased for £10 on the door (Cash or card) or in advance online.

Tea/Coffee and Cake will be available after the concert for £4
