Woman injured in collision with van near junction with Dukes Avenue

An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a hit and run took place in Chiswick this Friday morning.
A female on a moped in her twenties was hit by a van at the junction of Chiswick High Road and Dukes Avenue at around 10.30am. The latest update on her condition is that her injuries are not life-threatening. Eye-witness have stateed that the victim was conscious after the collision.
She was earlier reported incorrectly to have been riding a bicycle.
The van driver is believed to have pulled up following the collision but then drove away without giving details and is being sought by the police.
There are unconfirmed reports that the moped and the van were turning right into Dukes Avenue travelling eastbound on the High Road when they collided at low speed.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said, "We were called at 10.31am this morning to reports of a collision involving a cyclist on Chiswick High Road.
"We sent an ambulance crew, which treated a woman at the scene and took her to hospital."
A spokesperson for the police said, “The van involved in the collision failed to stop. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver
“Road closures were in place, whilst officers managed the scene.”

The road was shut between the junctions with Fisher’s Lane and Dukes Avenue but reopened in the afternoon.
