Christine Higgins and Barbara Kerin have been reappointed as non-executive directors of West London Mental Health NHS Trust for a further four years. Both have been board members since 2009.
Nigel McCorkell, chairman of the West London Mental Health NHS Trust said: "I am delighted that Christine and Barbara have been re-appointed and look forward to working with them during what will be a period of important change and development over the next four years.
"Both have excellent track records as non-executive directors and their strategic approach to developing organisations will ensure the Board can provide robust advice and challenge to the trust as it seeks to become a foundation trust and leading provider of excellent mental health care."
Christine Higgins is a chartered accountant and an associate of the Institute of Taxation. Christine is an experienced businesswoman. She has led a number of businesses within international banks, advising companies across a wide range of industry sectors on the financing of key assets. Christine is chair of the trust's audit committee.
Barbara Kerin has over twenty years of experience as a solicitor in top city law firms specialising in real estate. She now works in the waste management industry dealing with the planning and development of facilities with cutting edge technology. Barbara is a trustee of the Chiltern Citizen's Advice Bureau and has been a member of MIND in Tower Hamlets executive committee where she was involved in the development of new facilities improving the care and assistance given to the community and the development of the advocacy service. Barbara is chair of the trust's property and land sales committee.

Barbara Kerin adds: "Mental health services are changing throughout the country and I look forward to supporting the trust as it adapts to changes in the wider health economy, ensuring that we're providing excellent quality services which meet the needs of the people in our local communities.
"Working with the team at West London Mental Health NHS Trust through the re-development of our two major sites will be a challenging but rewarding project for all concerned."
The re-appointments were made by the NHS Trust Development Authority which is responsible for appointing all chairs and non-executives to NHS trusts throughout England. All appointments are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments, and made following an open competition based on merit, in a way that is open, transparent and fair to all applicants.
The remuneration for each of these roles is £6,157 per annum.
