Oldham 0 - 2 Brentford
Brentford impressed on their travels again on Saturday as they won 2-0 at Boundary Park - their fourth away victory on the bounce.
Uwe Rosler changed his formation to add loanee David Clarkson to his team alongside Clayton Donaldson in a more orthodox 4-4-2. The Bees started the game brightly, with Niall McGinn looking lively on the ball, but Oldham steadily came into the game and started to dominate the first half.
Their growing pressure didn't however result in a goal and it was Brentford who took the lead when Jonathan Douglas - who was immense yesterday - smashed home a volley from the edge of the box.
The second half looked far from plain sailing when Miguel Llera (who despite his sweet left foot sometimes looks like an accident waiting to happen) was dismissed for two yellow cards - his second a handball.
Karleigh Osborne was brought on for Kev as Rosler looked to prepare his defenses for an Oldham onslaught - but shortly afterwards the Bees netted a second goal when Myles Weston finished with aplomb following good approach play from McGinn.
It was also pleasing to see Toumani Diagouraga make a return from injury as a late substitute and to keep a clean sheet against a team featuring two former Brentford loanees (Reuben Reid and Robbie Simpson).
All in all a pleasing three points.
Bees - Lee, Thompson, Adams, Eger, Llera, Kev (Osborne), Bean, Douglas, McGinn (Dave), Donaldson, Clarkson (Weston)
Unused Bees - Moore, Wood
