Brentford held out for a 2-1 win at Exeter last night to rise to fifth place in the early League One table.

Uwe Rosler made one change to Saturday's starting XI with Sam Saunders replacing Myles Weston on the left of midfield.

Brentford took a slightly fortunate lead when Jonathan Douglas' free kick took a nasty deflection off Exeter's James Dunne, wrong footing home keeper Krysiak.

The Bees then took command of the game when Clayton Donaldson opened his Brentford account with a header from Niall McGinn's right footed cross.

Exeter fought back well and had a lot of a possession but Leon Legge and Karleigh Osborne again put in a great shift at the centre of defence. Exeter's goal came from the penalty spot after the linesman signalled a dubious Legge foul.

Douglas also had a good game last night, looking comfortable in possession and showing a good range of passing. Harry Forrester made his Brentford debut as a very late substitute.

On a slightly sour note, Shaleum Logan left St James Park wearing a protective boot after playing through pain last night, so is a severe doubt for the weekend.

Uwe revealed after the game that he had left Charlie Macdonald off the bench in favour of Myles Weston due to the latter's pace.

Bees - Lee, Logan, Woodman, Legge, KO, Saunders (Weston), Douglas, Reeves (Kev), McGinn (Forrester), Donaldson, Alexander

Unused Subs - Moore, Eger
