Brentford 1 - Yeovil 2
Brentford lost 2-1 at home to Yeovil yesterday in a game they should probably have won.
Osborne, Simpson and Macdonald returned to the starting XI as Brentford put in a decent first half stint but conceded a sloppy goal due to a Spillane error.
Charlie Macdonald, who played well yesterday then equalised five minutes before half-time with Brentford looking like they would press on to win the game
They didn't though. Our second half performance was sloppy, half-arsed and error strewn and Richard Lee took one for the team in the 82nd minute - the keeper sent off for handling outside the box after Osborne's slipshod back pass
Simon Royce was brought into the fray - quite possibly Brentfords oldest ever debutant - but looked as though he needed a hip operation as he stood stationary to watch Wotton's free kick sail into the net.
Nicky Forster was then given his usual 5 minute run but the Bees did little to seek an equaliser.
The atmosphere around Griffin Park yesterday was one of apathy, although most supporters woke to send the team off to a chorus of boos at the final whistle. The players look short on confidence, inspiration and effort - not good enough.
Andy Scott again blamed individual errors post match - and he has a valid point - but rarely do we muster enough steam to force similar mistakes from our opposition
Yesterday seemed a tipping point at Griffin Park -Scott's brand of uninspiring and lopsidedly bland football looks well past it's sell by date.
A match report wouldn't be complete without mention of a fantastic gallop and fizzing shot by Craig Woodman - a rare highlight yesterday.
Bees - Lee, Spillane (Forster), KO, Pim, Woodman, Simpson (Royce), Kev, OTJ, Weston (Grabban), Mac, Alexander.
