W4 prices appear to have drifted lower during the month
The average price of a property sold in the W4 post code area during February 2013 was £621,413. This is down by about 10% from the average in recent months but with just 34 homes sold there is not enough evidence to confirm a downturn in the market. Four of these properties sold for over £1 million the most expensive of which was on Grove Park Terrace changing hands for £1,950,000. According to the Land Registry, London property prices continue to lead the rest of the country rising by 6.3% in February compared with the same month in 2012. The average price of a home in the capital is now £370,819. This is down slightly on the previous month. For England and Wales as a whole over the same period average prices rose by just 1.0% to reach £162,606. The most up-to-date figures available show that during December 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 15 per cent to 53,860 compared with 63,600 in December 2011. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in December 2012 increased by 19 per cent to 598 from 501 in December 2011.
