Work being carried out to refurbish the former 1820 bar
A new restaurant is set to open later this month on the site of the former 1820 bar on Chiswick High Road. A sign has gone up outside the premises stating that NOVA will open in March. The sign says that the new premises will serve "modern European cuisine". As yet there is no information as to who the new owners are and there does not appear to be a web site connected to the new venture. Locals have observed workmen refurbishing the interior over the past few weeks. An advertisement recently appeared in the hospitality trade press for staff for a new-opening venue in Chiswick which will serve "quality, British and Modern European cuisine in a decorative setting." After the 1820 bar closed two years ago, local resident Duncan Townsend planned to open his second sports bar on the site. However, that venture did not get off the ground and the premises has been largely empty, although a property company occupied it for a short period. Prior to being the 1820 bar, it was a bar called Revolution. March 16, 2016 |
