The longstanding Fat Boys cafe in Edensor Road, which served English and Thai food, has been replaced by a Lebanese restaurant.

The venue is still called Fat Boys for the moment but is now under new management and has a new menu focusing on Mediterranean and Lebanese food. They have not said what the new name will be.

The Chiswick venue was the first of the Fat Boys which now has a number of other outlets. It was also the first Fat Boys to serve breakfast.

The new owners also run a popular cafe Maison St Cassion in Wimbledon High Street, and hope to repeat its success in Chiswick. Their website shows photographs of Andy Murray ad Maria Sharapova visiting the cafe and praising the food.

The management told chiswickw4.com that they were currently serving breakfasts and lunches but would serve dinner from next Tuesday and intended to have BBQ and grilled foods Lebanese style with outside dining available. They also have a licence to serve alcohol.

The cafe will continue to serve English breakfasts throughout the day as well as salads and cakes.

The menu is likely to be similar to the Wimbledon cafe, which offers hummous, and lamb kofta alongside dishes such as lasagne and ciabatta sandwiches. The dinner menu will offer a selection of grilled meats and marinated chicken.
