High Road pub reopens after major refurbishment
April 6, 2024 This Thursday (4 April) saw the reopening of The Old Pack Horse pub on Chiswick High Road following an extensive refurbishment. Brentford & Isleworth MP, Ruth Cadbury was on hand to cut the ribbon and declare the venue officially open along with General Manager Jeremy Freeman. Fuller’s says the new look pub has kept all the existing elements of The Old Pack Horse, such as the Thai kitchen, music on Friday and Saturday nights, and monthly Drag Bingo and Comedy. New to the pub’s social calendar is an Open Mic Night on the second Thursday of the month. There has been a pub on the site at least since 1759 when the West Country Packhorse was granted a licence. It underwent several name changes, becoming the “Lower Pack Horse” in 1790 and later the “Pack Horse” before 1811. Fuller, Smith & Turner acquired the pub in 1908 and the current building was constructed in 1910. It is largely unchanged structurally since then and has a Grade II listing.
