W4 Youth and Rocks Lane partnership's plan shortlisted
March 26, 2024 An initiative to get a new sports facility installed in Southfield Recreation Ground has made progress recently. W4 Youth and Rocks Lane CST’s proposal for a PlayZone by the basketball and tennis courts in the park on the border of Chiswick and Acton has been selected as one of five parks in the Borough of Ealing to potentially build PlayZones as part of the Ealing Consortium that includes The Football Foundation and Brentford FC CST. Football Foundation PlayZones project is offering funding to renovate or build a PlayZone in a number of parks across the borough. The next stage of the process is to get feedback from the community as to the sports they would like to see in the PlayZones if the proposal is successful. They are asking you to help them gather feedback by completing the survey which should take no more than 2 minutes. The project to build a new youth and community centre is also progressing. W4 Youth recently submitted an application to Ealing Council for the placement of a container to act as a temporary (three year) facility in the hardstanding area at the west of the park. W4 Youth provides provide sporting and other activities for teenagers from mainly Chiswick and Acton.
