Woman Killed on Chiswick Lane | ||
Police seeking witness possibly driving silver estate
A woman died Friday morning (25th November) at around 9am after being hit by a car on Chiswick Lane while standing at a bus stop. She has been named as Dilys Fouracres who is believed to have been in her eighties. She had visited a corner shop minutes before crossing the road and walking towards the bus stop outside Homefields Recreation Ground. The vehicle involved in the collision, a Touran, was travelling along Chiswick Lane when it swerved to avoid a silver car pulling out of a junction. Officers are keen to trace the silver car, believed to be an 'estate' model, which may have witnessed the collision. The car may have been driven by a female with shoulder length hair. The vehicle was last seen travelling south along Chiswick Lane, towards the A4. This vehicle did not stop at the scene. Railings around the park were also damaged. One local young man who was walking along the footpath narrowly avoided being hit. Chiswick Lane was closed for much of the morning following the incident. It was reopened by 14:45 in the afternoon. A London Air Ambulance helicopter landed on Homefield Park to assist. Flowers have since been placed at the scene. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Hampton Traffic Garage on 020 8247 6935. November 28, 2011 6:48 PM-> |
