The Friends of St Nicholas Church are hosting a concert by the Rebel Yell Jazz Orchestra who will be playing the masters of Big Band, including Francy Boland and featuring Duke Ellington's legendary Far East Suite.

It is the fourth appearance at the Chiswick venue by the group which was formed a decade ago and has since performed many times across the capital.

The event takes place at 7.30pm on Friday 18 October with doors open at 7pm when refreshments will be provided.

Entrance is by a payment of £12 on the door or £7 for under 25s with Friends of St Nicholas Church going free.

St Nicholas Church is at Church Street (W4 2PJ).

It is the earliest of the parish churches of Chiswick. Founded some 1,300 years ago, it was rebuilt in the 1880s, but the tower dates from 1425.

The purpose of the Friends of St Nicholas Church is the repair and maintenance of the building and churchyard, and its fixtures, fittings, and contents.

The group raises funds from Friends’ subscriptions, and from events in the church and elsewhere. New members are always welcome.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
