Jasper Perry to be accompanied by Iain Clarke
July 14, 2024 A concert with clarinet and piano is to be formed on Sunday (21 July) at 3pm at St Nicholas Church in Chiswick, Jasper Perry will be accompanied by Iain Clarke in a programme which includes Johannes Brahms’ Sonata in Eb op. 120/2, Ferruccio Busoni’s Elegie, Richard Rodney Bennett’s Clarinet Sonatina and Alamiro Giampieri’s Il Carnevale Di Venezia (Carnival of Venice). Jasper graduated his Bachelor’s degree in clarinet with first class honours in 2022 and is currently undertaking his Masters of Performance both at the Royal College of Music. He is a member of the London Firebird Orchestra performing at St George’s, Hanover Square, and regularly playing with the Ibiza Orchestra Symphonica. Prior to his studies, Jasper performed with the National Youth Wind Orchestra, touring the UK and Switzerland, and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain with a highlight of performing Ravel's Piano Concerto for the left hand at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. He also played the bass clarinet as the Zenaida Piontkovsky Memorial Scholar with the Berlin Opera Academy, performing Operas by Humperdinck and Puccini. Iain is originally from the Isle of Arran in Scotland and has been the Royal College of Music’s Gilbert and Eileen Edgar and Anthony Saltmarsh collaborative pianist since September 2022, working with their woodwind, brass and percussion departments. He works collaboratively and orchestrally around the UK and abroad, with notable partnerships including saxophonist Richard Scholfield, cellist Lavinnia Rae, horn player Olivia Gandee, and frequent orchestral work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (including tours to Poland and Belgium), the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. His debut album recording of the Concerto for Two Pianos (Eight Hands) and Wind Quintet by Malcolm Williamson is due to be released late 2024 / early 2025. He has performed extensively across the UK in venues including Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Snape Maltings, Usher Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Tickets cost £10 on the door or £5 for students and you can stay afterwards for tea and cake for an additional £5. Cash or card are accepted on the door, or you can pay in advance on Eventbrite.
