This Thursday (30 May), The Anglo-Saxon Saints will be performing a theatrical fusion of dramatic storytelling, songs and music from medieval England.

The ensemble features performance storyteller Anna Conomos, and internationally acclaimed musicians Rebecca Vucetic and Anna Golitzin.

Anna Conomos has spent over twenty years performing internationally in festivals, museums and schools. In 2005 she won the Young Storyteller of the Year UK award and she has a collection of folk and fairy tales, myths, legends and songs from across the globe.

Anna Golitzin learned to sing at a Russian Orthodox Church and developed a love of renaissance choral music through her mother, going on to study Early Music History at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During her university years, Anna studied harpsichord and basso continuo with Joseph Gascho, and performed in baroque operas. In London, Anna has sung with various choirs including Robert Hollingworth's I Fagiolini and Greg Skidmore's Lacock Scholars. Anna is a primary school music teacher at Falkner House School

Rebecca Vučetic holds a Masters with distinction in Historical Performance from Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She performs on the recorder and with early music ensembles Royal Baroque & Bagatino, recorder consort Woodwork, and has also played for Fontanella, Poeticall Musicke and The Musicians of London Wall for a BBC radio 3 broadcast. She is co-founder and conductor of Mosaic youth choir, arranging and performing a broad repertoire of European and British traditional and liturgical music.

The concert is being held at the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Royal Martyrs, 57 Harvard Road (W4 4ED) commencing at 7pm.

Admission is free with a retiring collection.

The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs is the Cathedral See of the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe of the Orthodox Church Outside Russia and is one of the oldest Orthodox parishes in the British Isles, having been founded in 1725. It made its home in Chiswick after the completion of the church built in the Pskov style which was consecrated in 2018.

The bishop has condemned the war in Ukraine and the parish provides support for Ukrainian refugees in the UK and victims of the war in their country.
