Macmillan hosts summer evening of cocktails and canapes
The Chiswick Committee of Macmillan Cancer Relief raised £4,600+ at its recent summer garden party. Held in a magical garden in Old Chiswick, over 120 guests enjoyed a balmy summer evening and indulged in wonderful canapés prepared by the Committee. These legendary eats went like hot cakes! Giving added enjoyment was a wind quintet, led by local clarinettist John Cook, who regaled the guests with beautiful music throughout the evening. The musicians generously gave their time and talent to support Macmillan. The members of the Committee contributed the food, and the wine was paid for by the raffle, which raised over £800. The entire ticket cost and all additional donations went directly to Macmillan Cancer Relief. The next fundraising events for the Committee will be an Autumn Tennis Tournament on 21 September; the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 30 September and a wine tasting/opera evening to be held at Latymer School on Saturday 8th October 2005.
