David Cairns of Finavon to discuss his research method
November 17, 2024 Award-winning Australian author David Cairns of Finavon is to give a talk at Chiswick Library later this month. He is flying in from his home in the Gold Coast of Australia to discuss his atmospheric detective series, The Cases of Findo Gask & Erroll Rait on Thursday, 28 November from 6 - 7pm, He will tell the audience about the research he undertakes to make his fiction as 'real' and accurate as possible, and how he has been inspired by British writers, including Arthur Conan Doyle. In David's new book The Case of the Beth-El Stone, his dynamic detective duo, Gask and Rait, uncover a sinister plot and a secret that has been protected by the Knights Templar since the 12th Century. A secret that could change the world order.... The Historical Novel Society has described his series of novels as "thoroughly immersed in the period" and Aspects of History described it as "bursting with mystery, action, and adventure ... a Sherlock Holmes-esque story that leaves the reader striving for justice, with the twist and turns keeping the reader on the edge of their seat."
