A General Election hustings for the Hammersmith and Chiswick constituency is to be held in Grove Park this week.

The proceedings will be chaired by the long running presenter of Radio Four’s Money Box programme, Paul Lewis.

Almost all of the eight candidates for the seat are understood to have agreed to attend the event on Monday (24 June) at St. Paul’s Church.

The doors will open at 7.00 pm and the hustings will begin promptly at 7.30pm

Each candidate will be given the opportunity to say why they believe they should be MP for the constituency, and to set out a few of the policies in their party’s manifestos that they believe are most relevant to the Chiswick area and London as a whole. Time will also be set aside for audience members to ask the candidates about matters of specific concern to them. Questions may be submitted in advance via email to sam.hearn@intinternet.com.

Interest in this event is understood to be high so there is no guarantee of entry if the venue is full by the time of your arrival.

There will be a bar and donations to the church funds will be encouraged at the end of the meeting.

The event has been organised through the Church. It is a non-partisan event that is being provided purely as a service to the local community.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact info@neighbournet.com and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
