Money Box's Paul Lewis to chair candidates' discussion
June 23, 2024 A General Election hustings for the Hammersmith and Chiswick constituency is to be held in Grove Park this week. The proceedings will be chaired by the long running presenter of Radio Four’s Money Box programme, Paul Lewis. Almost all of the eight candidates for the seat are understood to have agreed to attend the event on Monday (24 June) at St. Paul’s Church. The doors will open at 7.00 pm and the hustings will begin promptly at 7.30pm Each candidate will be given the opportunity to say why they believe they should be MP for the constituency, and to set out a few of the policies in their party’s manifestos that they believe are most relevant to the Chiswick area and London as a whole. Time will also be set aside for audience members to ask the candidates about matters of specific concern to them. Questions may be submitted in advance via email to sam.hearn@intinternet.com. Interest in this event is understood to be high so there is no guarantee of entry if the venue is full by the time of your arrival. There will be a bar and donations to the church funds will be encouraged at the end of the meeting. The event has been organised through the Church. It is a non-partisan event that is being provided purely as a service to the local community.
