The Hogarth Singers is planning to kick off the Autumn term with a Come and Sing event in an effort to recruit new members.

If you haven’t sung for a while or are looking to try a choir before you join, then you are welcome come along on Wednesday 11 September.

The choir will be singing through highlights of Joseph Haydn’s oratorio, The Creation.

The event is being held in St Michael and All Angels Church, Bath Road, (W4 1TT) and tickets cost £15 which includes light refreshments. Hire of the music is available for £5 unless you have your own copy of New Novello edition edited by Michael Pilkington. Registration is at 7pm with singing from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Rehearsals for the Autumn term start at St Michael and All Angels Church at 7.30pm on Monday 16 September with Durufle’s Requiem, amongst other works.

New members are very welcome, especially tenors and basses, to whom a discount on their subscription is offered for the first term.

The Autumn concert takes place on Saturday 16 November at 7.30pm and this year’s family carol concert is on Saturday 14 December at 6.00pm.

Membership of the Hogarth Singers ranges between 50 – 60 people and it sings a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. The group also organises other activities which enable the choir to sing in a new setting and to enjoy some more sociable experiences not always involving singing.
