Friends of Harvard Hill Park bring together residents for local tidy up
Organised by the Friends of Harvard Hill and supported by CIP Parks and Open Spaces, lots of enthusiastic young and older residents alike showed up to a neighbourhood day of clearing and gardening at Harvard Hill Park last Saturday (12 November 2005) in Wolesley Gardens, Chiswick. The day was well attended and all volunteers got stuck in to the tasks at hand at their local park. Leafs were blown, raked and bagged; trees were wrapped with bamboo screening to protect the trunks; and two thousand tete a tete daffodil bulbs were planted under trunks and in drifts along the park to provide a burst of colour when they bloom in spring. All the bins in the park were cleared of graffiti and after a couple of hours the parks looked much improved.
The Friends of Harvard Hill has been established for just over two years and are always keen for new members to join the ranks. November 21, 2005
