Following the end of the consultation period on Transport for London’s proposal to add an extra lane to the A4 near Hogarth Roundabout, the plan will be up for discussion at the next Chiswick Area Forum.

Local ward councillors will be hosting a public meeting in the Hogarth Hall in Chiswick Town Hall on Tuesday 24 September at 7.30pm and W4 residents are encouraged to attend.

The discussion of the controversial scheme is likely to take up much of the meeting but also on the agenda is a Hounslow Highways PFI update for the Chiswick area as well as an update on damp and mould in the boroughs housing stock.

As usual there will be an Open Forum which will take questions from members of the public from as close as possible to 8pm for approximately 20 minutes. Members of the public may raise matters of local concern. Points raised will be noted and used to inform the work of the Area Forum but it may not be possible to have a detailed discussion of individual issues. Written questions can be submitted up until 7.45pm using proforma sheets will be available at the back of the hall. Speakers will be allowed at the Chair’s discretion who will normally only allow one contribution per person per item and one item per person per meeting and discussion of items on the main agenda will not be permitted in the Open Forum. Items where the debate cannot be contained within the public forum may be continued at a future forum or may be put on a future agenda with an officer’s report.

The next Chiswick Area Forum is due to take place on 11 December.

The Hogarth Hall is at Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace, Turnham Green, W4 4JN.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.
