The world of Narnia is set to feature heavily in this year’s Bedford Park Festival which will be celebrating The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as it approaches its 75 th anniversary.

A major stage production based on CS Lewis’s iconic book is about to start a UK tour and children in Chiswick will be invited to enter the magical kingdom where “it’s always winter but never Christmas”.

This year read the books, watch the film, hunt the pictures, dress up as the characters, walk through the wardrobe, paint the pictures and win prizes.

Narnia and its most memorable characters will be highlighted in the Festival’s Fancy Dress competition and Children’s Corner on Green Days; a Treasure Hunt in Turnham Green Terrace; a Young Artists Competition; and two Kids Club screenings at The Chiswick Cinema of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

In partnership with the Chiswick Book Festival, children and parents will also be encouraged to read the Narnia books that inspired the film and the new stage production.

C.S. Lewis wrote seven novels that together form The Chronicles of Narnia. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was first published in 1950 and over 85 million copies have been sold in 60 languages, making it one of the top ten best-selling books of all time.
