The wish of many Chiswick residents to see a Piccadilly line service at Turnham Green is to be granted. Unfortunately, the service is only being introduced this weekend because of the closure of the District line between Turnham Green and Acton Town due to engineering works. Chiswick Park station will also be closed but will not be served by the Piccadilly line.

Pressure has grown on the issue of a Piccadilly service for Chiswick since it was announced that signalling was to be upgraded on the line. Previously, the rationale for not providing a service at Turnham Green was that the antiquated signalling would not be able to cope.

A petition to Downing Street has been started on the issue which has already received over 1,000 signatures

On Silverlink Trains on Sunday morning the line will be blocked between Acton Central and Camden Road.
A replacement bus service will operate between Gunnersbury and Camden Road calling at all stations.
Customers should use LUL District line service between Richmond and Gunnersbury and LUL Bakerloo line services between Willesden Junction and Queens Park.

The engineering works will also require the closure of Acton Lane by the railway bridge at Chiswick Park for the whole weekend. Whilst this is happening Turnham Green Terrace will be reopened temporarily to two way traffic.
