A Chiswick resident, who has been described as the ‘fairy godmother of creativity’ has won an award for her podcast.

Tricia Duffy’s In Ten Years Time: How to live a creative life podcast has picked up the Best Arts & Design Podcast at the 2024 Women In Podcasting Awards.

In Ten Years Time (ITYT) is a podcast that aims to inspire everyone to find a creative balance. Aimed at audiences over 40, the ITYT philosophy combines long-term thinking, via the power-of-ten, with small daily steps.

Alongside the podcast, Tricia sends a fortnightly newsletter with creativity tips and recommendations, and she has created free resources and tools to help anyone looking to find their own creative balance, which includes a Ten Year Plan Template.

Originally hailing from Portsmouth, Tricia started her career working as an entertainer on cruise ships in the United States. After several years at sea, she began a second career in TV, working at IMG, Sky, BBC, before founding strategy consulting firm Lily Grey in 2012.

In 2017 she began writing and performing her own songs first with Americana duo Duffy & Bird and later via her solo project Little Lore. In 2023 she became the United Kingdom Chapter Coordinator for NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International). Alongside her solo artist project Little Lore, Tricia writes with other artists and for television and film.

In Ten Years Time was created when Tricia was seeking to encompass the duality of her consulting identity with her songwriting, She looked for resources that could help her navigate the challenges she encountered and finding little that helped, she decided to use her own experience to support others, and so In Ten Years Time was born.

Tricia said after receiving the award, “The response to the first two series’ of In Ten Years Time has been overwhelming. It has been a privilege to support people in finding or amplifying their creative selves using the In Ten Years Time philosophy - the combination of long-term thinking with small daily steps. The third series builds on the previous episodes, with an overarching theme of Amplifying. Tackling topics including reframing rejection, sleep and napping as a creative act, using research techniques to underpin our creative projects and the benefits of combining multiple disciplines to help us amplify our art and creativity. I am honoured to be interviewing songwriter and genre queer artist Satch for the last episode.”

The third series of ITYT is due to be released on 9 January 2025.
