The RNLI Lifeboat Station in Chiswick has launched its dedicated website this week.

The site provides updated statistics on incidents and a wealth of background information about the work of the crews on one of the busiest lifeboats in the UK.

It includes a gallery of photographs by local photographer, Paul Ratigan, showing the lifeboat in landmark locations in Chiswick and Brentford and the rest of its operational area between Battersea and Richmond.

The RNLI has an active fleet of 323 lifeboats including four on the Thames. In 2003 Chiswick Lifeboat was one of the busiest lifeboat stations in the UK recovering 138 people. So far in 2004 there have been 174 incidents with 110 people rescued The RNLI is entirely supported by voluntary contributions.
