May 12, 2024 Chiswick-based celebrity couple, David & Georgia Tennant, are to host an all-star charity gala next month as part of Pub in the Park Chiswick. The event, which takes place on Friday 28 June will be in aid of The Multibank. This charity is setting up its latest centre in Greenford and the evening at Chiswick House Gardens will be helping to get it started. A Multibank is much like a food bank, but also offers clothes, toiletries, bedding, baby goods, hygiene items, and furniture - essential things many families simply cannot afford yet desperately need. Clients are referred by local charity leaders, teachers, and social workers with this event focusing on funds for the latest one set up just last week in Greenford, West London. In its pilot phase, Multibank have helped 200,000 families with two million goods and now propose to offer 20 million goods to families in the greatest need. The couple, who met when they were recording Doctor Who, have joined forces with Tom Kerridge to stage the gala. The evening will include headline music on the main stage from De La Soul, The Feeling, Stereo MCs and a Vernon Kay DJ set plus a line-up of stars. These will include Arabella Weir, Claudia Winkelman, Alex Jones, Romesh Ranganthan, Lenny Henry, Stephen Mangan, Gaby Roslin, Simon Rimmer, Dr Ranj Singh, José Pizarro, Matt Tebbutt, Mark Wogan, Andrea McLean, Kate Thornton and more, with a special guest attendance from Multibank founder, former Prime Minster, Gordon Brown. Tickets are priced from £55 with £10 per ticket going to the charity and Super Donor tickets are £300 available which include five complimentary dishes and pit access in front of the stage as well as access to exclusive friends & family celebrity party. £250 from each of these tickets is donated to The Multibank.
