CONTROLLED PARKING SCHEME IN CHISWICK MALL GETS GREEN LIGHT

The controlled parking scheme for Chiswick Mall has been given the go-ahead by Councillors after considering the results of the final stages of the consultation.

Councillors agreed with the recommendations in the report that went to the Chiswick Area Committee meeting on 11th April 2002. Details of the minutes of the meeting will be available for public inspection four to five days before the Chiswick Area Planning Committee on 23rd May 2002, at Chiswick Library on Dukes Avenue.

The scheme will be implemented as soon as possible. The aim of the parking scheme is to help residents to park closer to where they live by removing all day commuter parking. Some space will be made available for the needs of business users who work in the area.

Funding is likely to come from the section 106 money from Chiswick Park.
