FULLER’S
WIN “PUB COMPANY OF THE YEAR”
Fuller Smith and Turner P.L.C, the Chiswick
based brewers and retailers were named “Pub
Company of the Year” at the “Publican Awards”
held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London
this week.
These
prestigious industry awards, organised by leading
trade title “The Publican Newspaper” are in
their eleventh year and recognise the cream
of the pub and licensed retail industry. Fuller’s
saw off competition from fellow finalists;
Eldridge Pope & Co P.L.C, Greene King Pub
Co. and Scottish & Newcastle Retail, in
the Pub Company of the Year - Managed (100
plus outlets) category.
A
judging panel of industry experts chaired by
the Publican Newspaper’s publisher David Goulthorpe
said; “ Fuller’s was a unanimous choice for
the panel who recognised that the Chiswick
based brewer has yet again consistently delivered
well managed traditional and modern pubs with
fantastic ales and excellent food. Fuller’s
has expanded its estate with great success
while remaining committed to quality and delivering
the highest levels of service.”
The
Publican newspaper also commented; “By maintaining
attention to detail, personal contact and continually
striving to understand its customers, Fuller’s
has managed yet again to deliver what the customer
wants.”
The
judges’ decision followed a series of mystery
visits to outlets run by the four finalists
as well as a question and answer session with
representatives from each company.”Simon Emeny,
Fuller’s Retail Director was at the ceremony
to collect the award and said; “This is a fantastic
achievement for Fuller’s and I am delighted
to be collecting this award on behalf of the
company. We are fortunate to have an excellent
team of people working for us, taking pride
in everything that they do and I’m delighted
these efforts have been officially recognised.”
