Hounslow Police have named Turnham Green and Chiswick Homefields wards as car crime hotspots after records showed that 51 offences had been committed in the past 12 weeks.

The roads most affected are the side road off the main High Road and those around Turnham Green Terrace.

The majority of the offences occur overnight with the most popular method of entry being through a smashed window. Laptops, handbags, wallets, cash and cameras are amongst the items reported stolen.

DI Jeff Minns told ChiswickW4.com, “Please don’t leave valuables such as laptops in cars. It is not necessary and gives thieves the motivation to steal from your car. Hounslow Police will be looking very closely at these offences as they appear to be on the increase”
