A 46 year old man has appeared in court charged with theft from a motor vehicle. Alexander Balko, aged 46, of No Fixed Abode, is accused of an offence which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning (10th August) on Rusthall Avenue.

At approximately 2.20am police were called by a 42 year old female stating that a man had just stolen the spare wheel from her Audi Vehicle which was parked outside her home address. The suspect, who was described as a white male in his forties, was last seen making off on a pedal cycle towards Speldhurst Road.

Officers arrived a short time later and stopped a male cycling along Speldhurst Road carrying a motor vehicle wheel. He was arrested on suspicion of Theft from Motor Vehicle and taken to Acton Police Station.

Theft From Motor Vehicle Offences in Ealing Borough currently show a decrease of 17.5% between 1st April - 3rd August 08 compared to the same period last year.
