Chiswick Police and Turnham Green’s Safer Neighbourhood Team will be conducting a series of high visibility and plain clothes operations in the coming weeks targeting street robbers and pick pockets.

As the weather turns warmer, Chiswick has traditionally seen a rise in street crime as more people are out and about enjoying the sunshine. The police will be actively targeting those who seek to steal property from others in Chiswick and will be pressing for robust prosecutions where evidence exists.

The public can help by ensuring they keep an eye on their mobile phones, handbags and other valuables whilst using cafes, bars and whilst out shopping.

"These thieves are opportunists and by safeguarding your property you help to make it harder for them to prey on others." said a spokesperson for Chiswick Police.
