Police are now investigating four sexual assaults which took place in the vicinity of Chiswick railway station between 10.30pm and midnight on Tuesday 26th June after one further attack during that same period was reported.

Officers from the Sapphire Unit at Hounslow are investigating the assaults.

DCI Tim De Meyer, head of Hounslow Borough CID, said, "This case is being investigated very thoroughly by a team of detectives who specialise in dealing with sexual offences.

"They are following up every lead and are determined to find the evidence that will identify the attacker and put him before the courts.

"There will be an increased police presence in the area but women should continue to be vigilante whenever they are out alone, particularly after dark."

All four attacks were carried out by a stranger to the victims. Police believe they are linked, but are nevertheless keeping an open mind.

A man was arrested on 28th June but released on Police bail until Wednesday 11th July pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information that they think could help the police investigation is asked to call Hounslow Police on 0208 247 6060.
