Local Police have identified and arrested a suspect in a violent assault through the help of Chiswickw4.com and the local community.

Police appealed for witnesses after two men suffered serious injuries during an incident which happened in the early hours of New Year's day on the High Road.

The victims had chased the two suspects from a bus after having a mobile phone snatched from their hand and became involved in an altercation with them outside a Sainsbury's Local store.

The two victims were initially thought to have life threatening injuries. However, both men have
made a good recovery, although they will have visible facial scars for the rest of their lives.

Through Police intelligence and public response 22 year old Charlie Southgate from Chiswick was arrested and charged.  He appeared before Isleworth Crown Court this week and pleaded guilty to wounding with intent. The case was adjourned for pre sentencing report.

DS Bowen stated “The way police identified the suspect of this serious assault was with the police and the press working together. I thank you, the individual who did respond to the press appeal, and encourage any person with information concerning any crime to contact police direct or through crime stoppers.

"This is an excellent result for the victims who have been spared going through the incident again. This was violent attack and I hope the severity will be reflected in the sentencing”.
