A gas meter reader has been assaulted during a robbery in which thieves stole the ID card which he displays to gain entry into peoples homes. The attack took place on Thursday 17th November 2005 at about 1345 in an alley at the rear of the shops behind 316, Chiswick High Road (Clifton News).

The 21 year old man was accosted by two suspects riding mountain bikes. One of them rammed into him from behind whilst the other suspect punched him and grabbed the keycard from around his neck. They tried to grab his hand held computer that he used to register readings but failed. They then cycled off.

The first suspect is described as a 20 year old black male, about 6’2” wearing a light blue hoody, blue jeans with rips down the side, NY black cap, bloodshot right eye. He was riding a grey BMX type bike. The second suspect is described as a 19 year old black male, about 5’10” wearing a grey hoody, dark blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms, silver and black trainers and had a gold bracelet on his left wrist. He had braided hair and had a high pitched Afro Caribbean accent. He was riding a silver mountain bike.

The victim suffered injuries to his shoulder, thumb and head but did not seek hospital treatment at the time. Any information to PC Dave Bendall on the Robbery Squad on 020 8247 5940.
