Arrest Made After Spate of Robberies |
School children targeted around Chiswick House Grounds An arrest has been made relating to the series of robberies on school children in the environs of Chiswick House Grounds. A suspect has been bailed to return to Hounslow on the 9th May. There had been a number of incidents in the area which tended to occur just after school hours. The crimes stopped over the Easter break but resumed again once the schools had returned. Children from both Chiswick Community School and other local schools have been the victims of this kind of attack in recent months. Many of the robberies had marked similarities including the initial gambit used by the robber to get the attention of his target. He usually claimed that a relative had been a victim of a robbery and that the person he was robbing had stolen the phone. Police believe that there may be more incidents of this kind of crime in the area that have gone unreported. If you have any information which you believe may be helpful in this enquiry you are asked to contact PC Jim Scarrot 020 8247 5940. May 4, 2005 |
